According to foreign media reports, TikTok recently launched its first physical store “pop-up” in Oxford Street, London. This store is open to existing and potential merchants and creators, with “community commerce” as the core concept, hoping to support “a new shopping culture”. The store mainly focuses on products such as technology, home life and books, which is an extension of TikTok Shop’s function, which allows merchants and brands to sell products directly to their fans.
Through physical stores, creators have the opportunity to meet the experts behind TikTok, learn about social sales and how to grasp online trends. Merchants can also broadcast live at this venue. TikTok said that 50% of consumers have completed their purchases through this channel.
Patrick Nommensen, general manager of TikTok e-commerce, said: “The TikTok community has created a new era of social business opportunities, and a video will soon become popular, creating demand and opportunities. We have seen merchants and creators change their business and life in a way that is impossible to see on any other platform. ”
Nommensen added: “Through this exciting physical store on Oxford Street, we hope to illuminate the opportunities for merchants and creators to be discovered and prosper on this platform.”
